ऋषय ऊचुः । सूत सूत महाभाग श्रोतुमिच्छामहे वयम् । चातुर्मास्यव्रतानां हि त्वत्तो माहात्म्यविस्तरम्
ṛṣaya ūcuḥ | sūta sūta mahābhāga śrotumicchāmahe vayam | cāturmāsyavratānāṃ hi tvatto māhātmyavistaram
ഋഷിമാർ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ സൂതാ, ഹേ മഹാഭാഗാ! ചാതുര്മാസ്യ വ്രതങ്ങളുടെ മഹാത്മ്യം നിനക്കിൽ നിന്ന് വിശദമായി ശ്രവിക്കുവാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു।
