ततो निर्भिद्य शूलाग्रैः प्रोत्क्षिप्य गगनांगणे । छत्रवद्धारयामास लंबमानमधोमुखम् । अक्षरद्रुधिरं भूमौ गात्रेभ्यो वर्ष्मसंभवम्
tato nirbhidya śūlāgraiḥ protkṣipya gaganāṃgaṇe | chatravaddhārayāmāsa laṃbamānamadhomukham | akṣaradrudhiraṃ bhūmau gātrebhyo varṣmasaṃbhavam
അപ്പോൾ ശിവൻ ത്രിശൂലത്തിന്റെ അഗ്രങ്ങളാൽ അവനെ ഭേദിച്ച് തുറന്ന ആകാശത്തിലേക്ക് ഉയർത്തി എറിഞ്ഞ്, കുടപോലെ മുകളിൽ ധരിച്ചു പിടിച്ചു; അവൻ തലകീഴായി തൂങ്ങിനിന്നപ്പോൾ, അവന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുയർന്ന രക്തം നിരന്തരം ഭൂമിയിലേക്കു തുള്ളിവീണു।
