अवध्यं संगरे पूर्वैः सर्वैदेवैः सवासवैः । स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय जगामादर्शनं हरः
avadhyaṃ saṃgare pūrvaiḥ sarvaidevaiḥ savāsavaiḥ | sa tatheti pratijñāya jagāmādarśanaṃ haraḥ
“പൂർവകാലത്തെ എല്ലാ ദേവന്മാരാലും, വാസവൻ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) ഉൾപ്പെടെ, യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവധ്യനായിരിക്കേണ്ടവൻ.” ഹരൻ ‘തഥാസ്തു’ എന്നു പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്ത് അദൃശ്യനായി.
