आनर्त उवाच । अन्येऽपि विविधाः कालाः सन्ति पुण्यतमा द्विज । कस्माच्चेंदुक्षये श्राद्धं विशेषा त्समुदाहृतम्
ānarta uvāca | anye'pi vividhāḥ kālāḥ santi puṇyatamā dvija | kasmācceṃdukṣaye śrāddhaṃ viśeṣā tsamudāhṛtam
ആനർത്തൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ദ്വിജാ! മറ്റു പലവിധ കാലങ്ങളും അത്യന്തം പുണ്യപ്രദങ്ങളാണ്; എന്നാൽ ചന്ദ്രക്ഷയകാലത്ത് (കൃഷ്ണപക്ഷത്തിൽ) ശ്രാദ്ധം എന്തുകൊണ്ട് പ്രത്യേകമായി പ്രശംസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു?
