देवाश्च निधनं प्राप्ता न जीवंति कथंचन । कस्यचित्त्वथ कालस्य विष्णुं प्रोवाच वृत्रहा
devāśca nidhanaṃ prāptā na jīvaṃti kathaṃcana | kasyacittvatha kālasya viṣṇuṃ provāca vṛtrahā
എന്നാൽ മരണത്തെ പ്രാപിച്ച ദേവന്മാർ എങ്ങനെയും വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചില്ല. കുറെ കാലത്തിനു ശേഷം വൃത്രഹാ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) വിഷ്ണുവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
