वृक्षाणां च यथाऽश्वत्थो देवतानां यथा हरिः । श्रेष्ठस्थानजविप्राणां तथा चाष्टकुलोद्भवः

vṛkṣāṇāṃ ca yathā'śvattho devatānāṃ yathā hariḥ | śreṣṭhasthānajaviprāṇāṃ tathā cāṣṭakulodbhavaḥ

വൃക്ഷങ്ങളിൽ അശ്വത്ഥം ശ്രേഷ്ഠവും ദേവതകളിൽ ഹരിയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠനുമായിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ നാട്ടുബ്രാഹ്മണന്മാരിൽ അഷ്ടകുലോദ്ഭവൻ (എട്ട് കുലജന്യൻ) പ്രഥമനായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
