na kaścidyajanaṃ cakre na dānaṃ na ca tarpaṇam | devatānāṃ pitṝṇāṃ ca manuṣyāṇāṃ viśeṣataḥ

ആരും യജനമോ, ദാനമോ, തർപ്പണമോ ചെയ്തില്ല—ദേവന്മാർക്കും പിതൃകൾക്കും, പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് മനുഷ്യർക്കും പോലും ഇല്ല।
