ततस्तौ प्रोचतुः पुत्रं बाष्पगद्गदया गिरा । दंपती बहुशोकार्तौ हा पुत्र किमिदं कृतम् । सोऽपि सर्वं समाचख्यौ ताभ्यां वृतांतमात्मनः
tatastau procatuḥ putraṃ bāṣpagadgadayā girā | daṃpatī bahuśokārtau hā putra kimidaṃ kṛtam | so'pi sarvaṃ samācakhyau tābhyāṃ vṛtāṃtamātmanaḥ
പിന്നീട് ഏറെ ശോകത്തിൽ വിങ്ങിയ ദമ്പതികൾ കണ്ണീരാൽ ഗദ്ഗദമായ ശബ്ദത്തിൽ മകനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“ഹാ പുത്രാ! ഇതെന്താണ് നീ ചെയ്തത്?” അവനും തനിക്കുണ്ടായ സംഭവങ്ങളുടെ മുഴുവൻ വൃത്താന്തം അവർക്കു പറഞ്ഞു.
