mahāsatī mahābhāgā sāvitrī sā pativratā | pūjyā ca sarvadevānāṃ jyeṣṭhā śreṣṭhā ca sadgaṇaiḥ

ആ സാവിത്രി മഹാസതി, മഹാഭാഗ്യവതി, പതിവ്രത; അവൾ സർവദേവന്മാർക്കും പൂജ്യയും സദ്ഗണങ്ങളിൽ ജ്യേഷ്ഠയും ശ്രേഷ്ഠയും ആയി മാന്യയുമാണ്।
