कर्णशूलं यथाऽयातमसकृद्द्विजसत्तमाः । वन्ध्यवाद्यं यथा वाद्यं मृदंगानकपूर्वकम्

karṇaśūlaṃ yathā'yātamasakṛddvijasattamāḥ | vandhyavādyaṃ yathā vādyaṃ mṛdaṃgānakapūrvakam

Translation

ഹേ ദ്വിജശ്രേഷ്ഠന്മാരേ, ആ ശബ്ദം അവളുടെ ചെവികളിൽ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും കർണശൂലത്തെപ്പോലെ കുത്തി—മൃദംഗവും ആനകവും കൂടെയുണ്ടായിട്ടും അത് വന്ധ്യവും നിർആനന്ദവുമായ വാദ്യമായി തോന്നി।
