आगता कन्यका चैका सामगीतिसमुत्सुका । शंकुकर्णनजं चित्रं वांछमाना विचक्षणा
āgatā kanyakā caikā sāmagītisamutsukā | śaṃkukarṇanajaṃ citraṃ vāṃchamānā vicakṣaṇā
അപ്പോൾ സാമഗീതത്തിന് ഉത്സുകയായ ഒരു കന്യക എത്തി. അവൾ വിവേകിയും ബുദ്ധിമതിയുമായിരുന്നു; ശങ്കുവും കർണനും നിന്നു ജനിച്ച അത്ഭുതരൂപം കാണാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു।
