उद्गातोवाच । तुष्टोऽहं ते विशालाक्षि यज्ञस्याऽविघ्नकारके । न वृथा दर्शनं मे स्याद्विशेषाद्देवसंभवे । वरं वरय मत्तस्त्वं तस्मादौदुम्बरीप्सितम्
udgātovāca | tuṣṭo'haṃ te viśālākṣi yajñasyā'vighnakārake | na vṛthā darśanaṃ me syādviśeṣāddevasaṃbhave | varaṃ varaya mattastvaṃ tasmādaudumbarīpsitam
ഉദ്ഗാതാവ് പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ വിശാലാക്ഷി, യാഗവിഘ്നനിവാരിണി! ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ പ്രസന്നനാണ്. നിന്റെ ദൈവസംബവം കൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ദർശനം വ്യർത്ഥമാകരുത്; അതിനാൽ, ഓ ഔദുംബരീ, എനിക്കു നിന്നിഷ്ടമായ വരം ചോദിക്കൂ।
