एतन्महाव्रतं रूपमाख्यातं ते त्रिलोचन । नैवं च मखकर्म स्यात्तत्रैव च न युज्यते
etanmahāvrataṃ rūpamākhyātaṃ te trilocana | naivaṃ ca makhakarma syāttatraiva ca na yujyate
ഹേ ത്രിലോചന, ഈ ‘മഹാവ്രത’ രൂപം നീ എനിക്ക് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ഇങ്ങനെ മഖകർമ്മം (യജ്ഞക്രിയ) നടക്കുകയില്ല; അവിടത്തെ യജ്ഞവിധിയിൽ ഇത് യുക്തമല്ല.
