कलिकाले विशेषेण स्वैरिण्यो ललितस्पृहाः । भर्त्रा विवदमानाश्च स्त्रियः कार्मणतत्पराः । वृथा व्रतानि कुर्वंति त्यक्त्वा ताः स्वपतेः कथाम्
kalikāle viśeṣeṇa svairiṇyo lalitaspṛhāḥ | bhartrā vivadamānāśca striyaḥ kārmaṇatatparāḥ | vṛthā vratāni kurvaṃti tyaktvā tāḥ svapateḥ kathām
പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് കലിയുഗത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീകൾ സ്വൈരിണികളായി സുഖഭോഗലാലസയോടെ മാറുന്നു; ഭർത്താവുമായി വഴക്കിട്ട് വശീകരണാദി കർമങ്ങളിൽ തൽപരരാകുന്നു. സ്വന്തം ഭർത്താവിനോടുള്ള പതിവ്രതധർമ്മത്തിന്റെ മാർഗം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അവർ വ്യർത്ഥമായി വ്രതങ്ങൾ അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുന്നു।
