दुर्वासा उवाच । चातुर्मासीविधानं ते करिष्ये नृप मंदिरे । मृत्तिकाग्रहणं तावच्छुश्रूषा क्रियतां मम । स तथेति प्रतिज्ञाय मामूचे पार्थिवोत्तमः
durvāsā uvāca | cāturmāsīvidhānaṃ te kariṣye nṛpa maṃdire | mṛttikāgrahaṇaṃ tāvacchuśrūṣā kriyatāṃ mama | sa tatheti pratijñāya māmūce pārthivottamaḥ
ദുർവാസൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ രാജാവേ, നിന്റെ കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ ഞാൻ ചാതുർമാസ്യവിധാനം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും. പവിത്ര മൃതികാഗ്രഹണം നടക്കുന്നതുവരെ എന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷ (സേവ) ചെയ്യപ്പെടട്ടെ. അപ്പോൾ ഉത്തമനായ രാജാവ് ‘തഥാസ്തു’ എന്നു പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്ത് എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
