तच्छ्रुत्वा कुपितस्तस्या विश्वामित्रो द्विजोत्तमाः । शशाप तां नदीं श्रेष्ठां यत्तद्वक्ष्यामि श्रूयताम्
tacchrutvā kupitastasyā viśvāmitro dvijottamāḥ | śaśāpa tāṃ nadīṃ śreṣṭhāṃ yattadvakṣyāmi śrūyatām
അത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ ദ്വിജോത്തമനായ വിശ്വാമിത്രൻ ക്രോധിതനായി, ആ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ നദിയെ ശപിച്ചു. “ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പറയുന്നതു കേൾക്കുക.”
