vasiṣṭha uvāca | yadyevaṃ te mahārāja madvākyātsatvaraṃ vraja | hāṭakeśvarajaṃ kṣetraṃ sarvasiddhipradāyakam
Vasiṣṭha
Tirtha: Hāṭakeśvara
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahārāja (the king)
Scene: Vasiṣṭha, authoritative yet compassionate, points the way as if indicating a pilgrimage route; the king listens attentively, resolve replacing despair; a faint map-like landscape suggests the kṣetra ahead.
Obedience to righteous counsel (guru-vākya) and pilgrimage to a sanctified kṣetra become vehicles for divine aid and success.
Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra, praised as a place that grants all siddhis (sarvasiddhipradāyaka).
The instruction is to go swiftly to the kṣetra; detailed worship procedures follow in subsequent verses.
