त्वया पुत्रेण पुत्राहं क्षुत्पिपासासमाकुलः । स्वर्गस्थोऽपि हि तिष्ठामि तस्मादन्नं प्रयच्छ वै । मन्नाम्ना तोयसंयुक्तं यदि त्वं मत्समुद्भवः

tvayā putreṇa putrāhaṃ kṣutpipāsāsamākulaḥ | svargastho'pi hi tiṣṭhāmi tasmādannaṃ prayaccha vai | mannāmnā toyasaṃyuktaṃ yadi tvaṃ matsamudbhavaḥ

ഹേ പുത്രാ! നിന്റെ കാരണത്താൽ ഞാൻ പിതാവായിട്ടും ക്ഷുധാ-തൃഷ്ണകളാൽ പീഡിതനാണ്; സ്വർഗത്തിൽ വസിച്ചിട്ടും അങ്ങനെ തന്നെയാണ്. അതിനാൽ നീ സത്യത്തിൽ എന്റെ സന്തതിയാണെങ്കിൽ, എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ജലസഹിതം അന്നദാനം അർപ്പിക്കു.
