पतिरुवाच । अष्टषष्टिषु तीर्थेषु स्नातुमिच्छामि सुन्दरि । साहाय्येन त्वदीयेन यदि शक्नोषि तत्कुरु

ഭർത്താവ് പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ സുന്ദരി! ഞാൻ അഷ്ടഷഷ്ടി തീർത്ഥങ്ങളിൽ സ്നാനം ചെയ്യാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു. നിനക്ക് കഴിയുമെങ്കിൽ, നിന്റെ സഹായത്തോടെ അത് നടത്തുക।
