मार्गशीर्षेऽथ संप्राप्ते तृतीयादिवसे सिते । तां देवीं पूजयामास वर्षं यावकृतक्षणा
mārgaśīrṣe'tha saṃprāpte tṛtīyādivase site | tāṃ devīṃ pūjayāmāsa varṣaṃ yāvakṛtakṣaṇā
പിന്നീട് മാർഗശീർഷമാസം എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, ശുക്ലപക്ഷത്തിലെ തൃതീയ തിഥിദിവസം, അവൾ ആ ദേവിയെ പൂജിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി; വ്രതത്തിന് നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയങ്ങൾ പാലിച്ച് പൂർണ്ണ ഒരു വർഷം തുടർച്ചയായി ചെയ്തു।
