चित्ते स्वे चिंतयामास सुधन्येयं तपस्विनी । यस्याः पतिर्मुखासक्तो गुणदोषप्रजल्पकः । सानुरागश्च सुस्निग्धो नान्यां नारीं बिभर्त्ति च
citte sve ciṃtayāmāsa sudhanyeyaṃ tapasvinī | yasyāḥ patirmukhāsakto guṇadoṣaprajalpakaḥ | sānurāgaśca susnigdho nānyāṃ nārīṃ bibhartti ca
അവൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ചിന്തിച്ചു—“ഈ തപസ്വിനി എത്ര ധന്യയത്രേ; അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവ് അവളുടെ മുഖത്തോടു തന്നെ ആസക്തനായി, ഗുണദോഷങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അവളോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; പ്രേമാനുരാഗവും അത്യന്തസ്നേഹവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി, മറ്റൊരു സ്ത്രീയെയും അവൻ സ്വീകരിക്കുന്നില്ല.”
