राजोवाच । स्वधर्म एष भूपानां कुर्वंति मृगसंक्षयम् । तस्मात्स्वधर्मसंयुक्तं न मां त्वं शप्तुमर्हसि
rājovāca | svadharma eṣa bhūpānāṃ kurvaṃti mṛgasaṃkṣayam | tasmātsvadharmasaṃyuktaṃ na māṃ tvaṃ śaptumarhasi
രാജാവ് പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ മുനേ, രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ സ്വധർമ്മം ഇതാണ്: വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ സംഖ്യ നിയന്ത്രിക്കുക. അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ സ്വധർമ്മാനുസരിച്ചാണ് ചെയ്തത്; നീ എന്നെ ശപിക്കേണ്ടതില്ല.
