एतस्मात्कारणाच्छापस्तव दत्तो मया नृप । न कामतो न मृत्योर्वा सत्येनात्मानमालभे
etasmātkāraṇācchāpastava datto mayā nṛpa | na kāmato na mṛtyorvā satyenātmānamālabhe
ഈ കാരണത്താലാണ്, ഹേ നൃപാ, ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഈ ശാപം നൽകിയതു—ആഗ്രഹം കൊണ്ടല്ല, മരണഭയം കൊണ്ടുമല്ല. സത്യത്തെ ആധാരമാക്കി ഞാൻ ഈ ദൃഢപ്രഖ്യാപനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
