दाक्षायण्या कृतं यच्च न दृष्टं किं त्वयानघ । त्वं चापि यज्ञे दक्षस्य अवदानार्थमागतः । अवदानं प्रयच्छामि तव चापि महाभूज
dākṣāyaṇyā kṛtaṃ yacca na dṛṣṭaṃ kiṃ tvayānagha | tvaṃ cāpi yajñe dakṣasya avadānārthamāgataḥ | avadānaṃ prayacchāmi tava cāpi mahābhūja
“ഹേ അനഘനേ, ദാക്ഷായണി (സതി) ചെയ്തത് നീ കണ്ടില്ലേ? നീയും ദക്ഷന്റെ യജ്ഞത്തിൽ നിന്റെ അവകാശഭാഗം തേടി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ഹേ മഹാഭുജാ, നിനക്കും നിന്റെ ഭാഗം ഞാൻ നൽകുന്നു.”
