मम वाक्यं महर्षे त्वं वद शीघ्रं यथातथम् । कुमारं च पुरस्कृत्य मया योद्धुं त्वमिच्छसि
mama vākyaṃ maharṣe tvaṃ vada śīghraṃ yathātatham | kumāraṃ ca puraskṛtya mayā yoddhuṃ tvamicchasi
'ഹേ മഹർഷേ! എന്റെ ഈ വാക്കുകൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ഉള്ളതുപോലെ പറയുക. കുമാരനെ (കാർത്തികേയനെ) മുന്നിൽ നിർത്തി എന്നോട് യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.'
