इत्युक्तोऽहं भगवता शंभुना स्वमनः स्थितम् । वृणोमि स्म वरं देव कुरु मामजरामरम्
ityukto'haṃ bhagavatā śaṃbhunā svamanaḥ sthitam | vṛṇomi sma varaṃ deva kuru māmajarāmaram
ഭഗവാൻ ശംഭു ഇങ്ങനെ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ, ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിലകൊണ്ട വരം ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു—ഹേ ദേവാ! എന്നെ ജരാമരണരഹിതനാക്കണമേ.
