प्रथमं तावत्प्रत्युषे उदिते सूर्ये शुचिर्भूत्वा गोमयकृतमंडलस्योपरि रक्तचंदनेन मंडलकं कृत्वा ततस्ताम्रपात्रे रक्तचंदनोदकश्वेतचंदनादिद्रव्यैः प्रपूरणं कृत्वा तन्मध्ये हेमाक्षतदूर्वादधिसर्पीषि परिक्षिप्य स्थापयेत्

prathamaṃ tāvatpratyuṣe udite sūrye śucirbhūtvā gomayakṛtamaṃḍalasyopari raktacaṃdanena maṃḍalakaṃ kṛtvā tatastāmrapātre raktacaṃdanodakaśvetacaṃdanādidravyaiḥ prapūraṇaṃ kṛtvā tanmadhye hemākṣatadūrvādadhisarpīṣi parikṣipya sthāpayet

ആദ്യം പ്രഭാതത്തിൽ സൂര്യൻ ഉദിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശുചിയായി, ഗോമായംകൊണ്ട് ചെയ്ത മണ്ഡലത്തിന്മേൽ രക്തചന്ദനത്തോടെ ഒരു ചെറുമണ്ഡലം വരയ്ക്കണം. തുടർന്ന് താമ്രപാത്രത്തിൽ രക്തചന്ദനജലവും ശ്വേതചന്ദനാദി ദ്രവ്യങ്ങളും ചേർത്ത് നിറച്ച്, അതിൽ സ്വർണവർണ്ണ അക്ഷതം, ദൂർവ, ദധി, ഘൃതം എന്നിവ തളിച്ച് അവിടെ സ്ഥാപിക്കണം.
