एतेन श्रुतिशास्त्राणि पुराणं च वृतैव किम् । अग्रे सप्तर्षिपूर्वा ये ब्राह्मणाः क्षत्रिया भवन्
etena śrutiśāstrāṇi purāṇaṃ ca vṛtaiva kim | agre saptarṣipūrvā ye brāhmaṇāḥ kṣatriyā bhavan
അങ്ങനെയെങ്കിൽ വേദശ്രുതി, ശാസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ, പുരാണങ്ങൾ—ഇവയ്ക്കെന്ത് ആവശ്യം? പുരാതനകാലത്ത് സപ്തർഷികൾക്കുമുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ബ്രാഹ്മണർ, പിന്നീട് കർമ്മഭൂമികയിൽ ക്ഷത്രിയരായി മാറി.
