ततः खड्गेन च शिरश्छेत्तुमैच्छदमर्षणः । ततः कलकलो जज्ञे देवानां सुमहांस्तदा । कुजंभस्य वशं प्राप्तं दृष्ट्वा निरृतिमाहवे
tataḥ khaḍgena ca śiraśchettumaicchadamarṣaṇaḥ | tataḥ kalakalo jajñe devānāṃ sumahāṃstadā | kujaṃbhasya vaśaṃ prāptaṃ dṛṣṭvā nirṛtimāhave
പിന്നീട് ക്രോധിതനായവൻ ഖഡ്ഗംകൊണ്ട് അവന്റെ ശിരസ് ഛേദിക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ദേവന്മാരിൽ മഹാ കോലാഹലം ഉയർന്നു; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിരൃതി കുജംഭന്റെ വശത്തിലായതായി അവർ കണ്ടു.
