अग्निरूपेण तस्याश्च स ददाह महाश्रमम् । चकर्ष वायुरूपेण महोग्रेण च तां शुभाम् । एवं सिहवृकाद्याभिर्भीषिकाभिः पुनःपुनः

agnirūpeṇa tasyāśca sa dadāha mahāśramam | cakarṣa vāyurūpeṇa mahogreṇa ca tāṃ śubhām | evaṃ sihavṛkādyābhirbhīṣikābhiḥ punaḥpunaḥ

അഗ്നിരൂപത്തിൽ അവൻ അവളുടെ മഹാശ്രമം ദഹിപ്പിച്ചു; അത്യുഗ്രമായ വായുരൂപത്തിൽ ആ ശുഭസ്ത്രീയെ വലിച്ചിഴച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി. ഇങ്ങനെ സിംഹം, ചെന്നായ മുതലായ ഭയങ്കര വിഭീഷികകളാൽ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും അവളുടെ നിശ്ചയം കുലുക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു।
