सहस्रविंशतिश्चैव षट्शतानि तथैव च । तासां सारसमुद्भुतं महीतोयं प्रकीर्तितम्
sahasraviṃśatiścaiva ṣaṭśatāni tathaiva ca | tāsāṃ sārasamudbhutaṃ mahītoyaṃ prakīrtitam
ഇരുപത്തൊന്ന് ആയിരവും, കൂടാതെ ആറുനൂറും—ആ (പുണ്യ നദി-തീർത്ഥങ്ങളുടെ) സാരത്തിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്നതാണ് ‘മഹീ’യുടെ ജലം എന്നു പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
