उद्दिष्टानां तु तीर्थानामेतेषां कलशोद्भव । नाममात्रमपि श्रुत्वा निष्पापो जायते नरः । इदानीं प्रस्तुतं विप्र शृणु वक्ष्यामि तेग्रतः । वैकुंठनाथो यच्चक्रे शंखचक्रगदाधरः

uddiṣṭānāṃ tu tīrthānāmeteṣāṃ kalaśodbhava | nāmamātramapi śrutvā niṣpāpo jāyate naraḥ | idānīṃ prastutaṃ vipra śṛṇu vakṣyāmi tegrataḥ | vaikuṃṭhanātho yaccakre śaṃkhacakragadādharaḥ

ഹേ കലശോദ്ഭവ (അഗസ്ത്യ), സൂചിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഈ തീർത്ഥങ്ങളുടെ നാമമാത്രം കേട്ടാലും മനുഷ്യൻ പാപരഹിതനാകുന്നു. ഇപ്പോൾ, ഹേ വിപ്ര, പ്രസക്തമായ കാര്യം കേൾക്കുക; ശംഖചക്രഗദാധാരിയായ വൈകുണ്ഠനാഥൻ ചെയ്തതു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ പ്രസ്താവിക്കും.
