स्कंद उवाच । सत्यमेतत्त्वया पृच्छि कथयामि मुने शृणु । तस्य व्यासस्य चरितं भविष्यं त्वयि पृच्छति
skaṃda uvāca | satyametattvayā pṛcchi kathayāmi mune śṛṇu | tasya vyāsasya caritaṃ bhaviṣyaṃ tvayi pṛcchati
സ്കന്ദൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നീ ചോദിച്ചതെല്ലാം സത്യവും യുക്തവുമാണ്. ഹേ മുനേ, കേൾക്കുക—ഞാൻ പറയുന്നു; നിന്റെ ചോദ്യം അനുസരിച്ച് വ്യാസന്റെ ചരിതം വിവരിക്കും।
