महिषासुरतीर्थं च तत्समीपेति पावनम् । यत्र तप्त्वा स दैत्येंद्रो विजिग्ये सकलान्सुरान्
mahiṣāsuratīrthaṃ ca tatsamīpeti pāvanam | yatra taptvā sa daityeṃdro vijigye sakalānsurān
അതിനടുത്ത് പാവനമായ ‘മഹിഷാസുര തീർത്ഥം’ ഉണ്ട്; അവിടെ തപസ്സു ചെയ്ത് ആ ദൈത്യേന്ദ്രൻ സർവ്വ ദേവന്മാരെയും ജയിച്ചു.
