तददत्ता कथं स्वैरमहमन्यं वरं वृणे । वृतोपि न कुलीनश्चेद्गुणवान्न च शीलवान्

tadadattā kathaṃ svairamahamanyaṃ varaṃ vṛṇe | vṛtopi na kulīnaścedguṇavānna ca śīlavān

“എന്നെ (വിവാഹത്തിൽ) ഏല്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ സ്വേച്ഛയായി മറ്റൊരു വരനെ എങ്ങനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കും? തിരഞ്ഞാലും എന്ത് ഫലം—അവൻ കുലീനനല്ലെങ്കിൽ, ഗുണവാനല്ലെങ്കിൽ, ശീലവാനല്ലെങ്കിൽ?”
