brahmovāca | avilaṃbena tadbrūhi kṛtaṃ manyasva pārthiva | yatte hṛdi mahābāho tavādeyaṃ na kiṃcana
Brahmā
Tirtha: Kāśī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Divodāsa (addressed as pārthiva/nareśvara)
Scene: Brahmā, serene and four-faced, addresses a mighty king in a court-like setting, granting assurance that the king’s wish will be fulfilled; attendants and ritual fires suggest cosmic authority.
A righteous intention, clearly expressed, becomes effective when sanctioned by divine authority—promptness and sincerity in dharmic resolve are praised.
The larger narrative belongs to Kāśī (Vārāṇasī) Māhātmya in the Kāśīkhaṇḍa, highlighting the unique sovereignty of Kāśī under divine governance.
No explicit ritual is prescribed in this verse; it functions as a boon-granting preface within the Kāśī narrative.
