कृष्णः स एव भर्तृघ्न्याः पुंश्चल्याश्च प्रकीर्तितः । नाभेरधस्तात्तिलकं मशको लांछनं शुभम्

kṛṣṇaḥ sa eva bhartṛghnyāḥ puṃścalyāśca prakīrtitaḥ | nābheradhastāttilakaṃ maśako lāṃchanaṃ śubham

ആ കറുത്ത അടയാളം ഭർത്താവിനെ കൊല്ലുന്നവളും അവിഹിതബന്ധത്തിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുന്നവളുമായ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ലക്ഷണമായി പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. എന്നാൽ പൊക്കിളിന് താഴെയുള്ള തിലകക്കുറിയും കൊതുക് പോലെയുള്ള മറുകും ശുഭകരമായി കണക്കാക്കുന്നു.
