सर्वत्र ते प्रवेशोस्ति त्यक्त्वा वाराणसीं पुरीम् । नियोज्यतामिति शिवोप्यंतर्धानं गतस्ततः
sarvatra te praveśosti tyaktvā vārāṇasīṃ purīm | niyojyatāmiti śivopyaṃtardhānaṃ gatastataḥ
‘വാരാണസി നഗരിയെ ഒഴിച്ചാൽ നിനക്ക് എല്ലായിടത്തും പ്രവേശനമുണ്ട്; അതനുസരിച്ച് നിയുക്തയാകുക.’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് ശിവനും അവിടെത്തന്നെ അന്തർധാനം ചെയ്തു।
