śivaśarmovāca | aho gaṇau vicitreyaṃ śrutā cāṃdramasī kathā | uḍulokakathāṃ khyātaṃ viṣvagākhyānakovidau

ശിവശർമൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അഹോ, ഹേ രണ്ടു ഗണങ്ങളേ! ഞാൻ ഈ ചാന്ദ്രമസീ കഥ അത്ഭുതത്തോടെ ശ്രവിച്ചു. ഉടുലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രസിദ്ധ കഥ പറയുന്നതിൽ നിങ്ങൾ ലോകവിഖ്യാത ആഖ്യാനകൗശലികൾ ആകുന്നു.
