śrīsūta uvāca | munayaḥ śrūyatāṃ tasya durācārasya pātakam | snānena dhanuṣaḥ koṭau yathā muktaśca pātakāt
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa/Śrī Sūta)
Tirtha: Dhanuṣkoṭi
Type: kshetra
Listener: Muni-gaṇa (sages)
Scene: Sūta raises his hand in assurance—‘śrūyatām’—as sages settle into attentive silence; the fire glows steadily; the scene foreshadows a forthcoming moral tale with Dhanuṣkoṭi’s sea-bath as the turning point.
Even heavy moral fall can be transformed through contact with a sanctified tīrtha when joined with the purifying rite of snāna.
Dhanuṣkoṭi, presented as a purifier from pātaka (sin).
Snāna at Dhanuṣkoṭi as the means of release from sin.
