धर्म उवाच । यदि तुष्टोऽसि देवेश दयां कृत्वा ममोपरि । तं कुरुष्व महाभाग त्रैलोक्यं सचराचरम् । वरेणैवं यथा ख्यातिं गमिष्यामि युगेयुगे
dharma uvāca | yadi tuṣṭo'si deveśa dayāṃ kṛtvā mamopari | taṃ kuruṣva mahābhāga trailokyaṃ sacarācaram | vareṇaivaṃ yathā khyātiṃ gamiṣyāmi yugeyuge
ധർമ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “ഹേ ദേവേശാ! നീ പ്രസന്നനായി എനിക്കു കരുണ കാണിച്ചാൽ, മഹാഭാഗനേ, ചരാചരസഹിതമായ ത്രിലോകമൊട്ടാകെ ഈ വരം പ്രാബല്യമാക്കുക; ഈ വരത്താൽ ഞാൻ യുഗം യുഗമായി ഖ്യാതി പ്രാപിക്കട്ടെ.”
