तदाकर्ण्य ततो रामः संभ्रमात्त्वरितो ययौ । दृष्ट्वा तां दुःखसंतप्तां स्वयं दुःखमवाप सः । उवाच वचनं रामः कृतांजलिपुटस्तदा

tadākarṇya tato rāmaḥ saṃbhramāttvarito yayau | dṛṣṭvā tāṃ duḥkhasaṃtaptāṃ svayaṃ duḥkhamavāpa saḥ | uvāca vacanaṃ rāmaḥ kṛtāṃjalipuṭastadā

അത് കേട്ട് രാമൻ ആശങ്കയോടെ ഉടൻ തന്നെ വേഗത്തിൽ ചെന്നു. ദുഃഖത്തിൽ കത്തുന്ന അവളെ കണ്ടപ്പോൾ അവനും ദുഃഖം അനുഭവിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് രാമൻ കരംകൂപ്പി ആദരത്തോടെ വചനം പറഞ്ഞു।
