को मयाऽराध्यतां देवो हृदि चिंतयते भृशम् । इति चिंतयतस्तस्य मतिर्जाता महात्मनः
ko mayā'rādhyatāṃ devo hṛdi ciṃtayate bhṛśam | iti ciṃtayatastasya matirjātā mahātmanaḥ
“ഞാൻ ഏതു ദേവനെ ആരാധിക്കണം?”—എന്ന് അവൻ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ അത്യന്തം ചിന്തിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ ആ മഹാത്മാവിൽ ഒരു ദൃഢനിശ്ചയം ഉദിച്ചു.
