pāpaṃ vā yadi vā puṇyaṃ sarvaṃ koṭi guṇaṃ bhavet | tasmāddaityairna dharṣitaṃ kadācidapi bhoḥ surāḥ
Brahmā
Tirtha: Dharmāraṇya
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devas (addressed as ‘भोः सुराः’)
Scene: A sanctified forest surrounded by an invisible protective boundary; Dānavas recoil at its edge, while the aura of karmic law shines—bright for merit, fierce for sin.
Karma—good or bad—intensifies in a highly charged sacred field; hence one should act with heightened ethical care at a tirtha.
Dharmāraṇya, described as a place where all karmic results become multiplied.
An implicit prescription: avoid sinful acts in Dharmāraṇya, since their results too become greatly magnified.
