शतघ्नीं पातयामास तस्या उपरि दानवः । शक्तिं चिच्छेद सा देवी मातंगी च शुभानना
śataghnīṃ pātayāmāsa tasyā upari dānavaḥ | śaktiṃ ciccheda sā devī mātaṃgī ca śubhānanā
ദാനവൻ അവളുടെ മേൽ ശതഘ്നി എറിഞ്ഞു വീഴ്ത്തി; എന്നാൽ ശുഭമുഖിയായ ദേവി മാതംഗി ആ ശക്തി (കുന്തം) വെട്ടി ഖണ്ഡങ്ങളാക്കി.
