शोकात्केचिदुरो जघ्नुः शिरो जघ्नुश्च केचन । हा राजपुत्र हा तात क्वासि क्वासीति बभ्रमुः
śokātkeciduro jaghnuḥ śiro jaghnuśca kecana | hā rājaputra hā tāta kvāsi kvāsīti babhramuḥ
ശോകത്തിൽ ചിലർ നെഞ്ചടിച്ചു, ചിലർ തലകൊട്ടി. ‘ഹാ രാജകുമാരാ! ഹാ പ്രിയകുഞ്ഞേ! നീ എവിടെ—എവിടെ?’ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ച് അവർ വ്യാകുലരായി അലഞ്ഞു.
