शबर्युवाच । यदा गृहं समुद्दीप्य प्रविष्टाहं हुताशने । तदात्मानं न जानामि न पश्यामि हुताशनम्
śabaryuvāca | yadā gṛhaṃ samuddīpya praviṣṭāhaṃ hutāśane | tadātmānaṃ na jānāmi na paśyāmi hutāśanam
ശബരീ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഗൃഹം ജ്വലിച്ച് ഞാൻ ഹുതാശനത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിച്ചപ്പോൾ, അപ്പോൾ എനിക്ക് എന്നെ തന്നെ അറിയാനായില്ല; അഗ്നിയെയും ഞാൻ കണ്ടില്ല।”
