Vahni / Havyavāhana (Agni)
Tirtha: Revā-tīrtha
Type: kshetra
Scene: Agni, once blazing, now marked by disease, folds his hands and bows to Śiva’s fierce yet compassionate form; he confesses being scorched by Śiva’s potency and begs for the destruction of his leprosy.
Humility and surrender transform suffering into a doorway to grace; even divine beings seek Śiva’s compassion for liberation from affliction.
The Revā region’s tīrtha milieu (later specified as the bathing-place where Agni is healed).
Not yet; the verse is a supplication that sets up the prescribed tīrtha-snāna (sacred bath) in the next verse.
