प्रेतास्तस्य हि सुप्रीता यावदाभूतसम्प्लवम् । अन्नं वस्त्रं हिरण्यं च यो दद्यादग्रजन्मने

Transliteration

pretāstasya hi suprītā yāvadābhūtasamplavam | annaṃ vastraṃ hiraṇyaṃ ca yo dadyādagrajanmane

Translation

അവന്റെ പിതൃക്കൾ മഹാപ്രളയം വരെയും അത്യന്തം തൃപ്തരായിരിക്കും. അഗ്രജന്മനായ ബ്രാഹ്മണന് അന്നം, വസ്ത്രം, ഹിരണ്യം (സ്വർണം) ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അവർക്കു ഈ ദീർഘ തൃപ്തി നൽകുന്നു.
