അപ്പോൾ ആ ലിംഗം ‘കുംഭേശ്വരൻ’ എന്ന പേരിൽ പ്രസിദ്ധമായി; ദേവഗണങ്ങൾ അതിനെ ആരാധിച്ചു. ദേവന്മാർ നിത്യസേവിക്കുന്ന ആ ലിംഗത്തെ രാമനും ഭക്തിയോടെ പൂജിച്ചു।
